Goimagine is integrated with TaxJar to automatically calculate tax rates within the United States.
Currently, taxes are calculated and sent to sellers based on their Sales Tax Nexus (ie. the state they reside). If a buyer makes a purchase in the same state the seller resides then taxes are collected and sent to the seller for remittance. A seller's "nexus" is based on where they have offices or employees. Since goimagine is a marketplace for handmade sellers that are small businesses it is assumed their nexus is only in the state where they registered for goimagine.

Goimagine will eventually have to collect taxes on behalf of sellers when we reach "Economic Nexus". Marketplace facilitators are required to collect taxes on behalf of sellers when they reach certain revenue thresholds which are different for each state. For instance, when goimagine reaches $100,000 in sales for Georgia we will begin collecting and remitting taxes within that state. Meanwhile in Alabama the economic threshold is $250,000. As goimagine hits economic nexus in each state we will begin collecting and remitting taxes within those states on behalf of our sellers.
